Bolted shelving
Bolted shelving
Bolted shelving units are extremely robust shelving units for warehouses, workshops, businesses or even the cellar at home. They can easily accommodate heavier loads, are very stable and extremely robust!
What is boltless shelving?
In contrast to boltless shelving, screwed shelving, as the name suggests, is screwed together. Tools are therefore required for the assembly of these shelves. When assembling a boltless shelving unit, angle profiles are screwed to the shelves by corner brackets. This ensures a very good stability. At the end of the assembly process, clamping feet can be attached to the lower end of the angle profiles to protect both the floor and the profiles themselves from damage and wear. The number of shelves can also be adapted to your individual requirements - for example, one shelf can be omitted during assembly if higher goods are to be stored on the floor below.
Bolted shelving can either be used on both sides or only on one side. If they can be used on both sides, they can simply be placed freely in the room. From each side something can be taken out comfortably, since no diagonal connections are present. Due to the robust materials and the screw connections, they are nevertheless absolutely stable. These models are suitable for archives or warehouses, for example. Screw shelves, which can only be used on one side, are attached to the wall and floor. These fixings increase the stability of the shelves, so that larger, heavier loads can also be stored. Such a system is, for example, the SSI Schaefer boltless shelving system, which you can also find in our online shop. These racks are suitable as heavy duty racks in larger warehouses, factories and workshops.
When filling the screw racks, it is essential to ensure that the loads are evenly distributed so as not to jeopardize the stability and robustness of the rack, but to use it for its own benefit.
Attention: System perforation is not equal to system perforation!
Bolted shelving systems are characterised by their individual system perforation. This simplifies, for example, the individual adjustment of the height of the corresponding shelves or the extension of the shelves. However, it is important to note that different boltless shelving systems cannot be combined with each other! Add-on parts purchased later to extend a boltless shelving system must also originate from the same system. For example, the SSI Schaefer shelving system can only be extended with add-on parts that belong to the SSI Schaefer shelving system.
Why buy boltless shelving?
Bolted shelving is the cheaper alternative to boltless shelving. Bolted shelving is particularly worthwhile if a shelf is purchased once and only needs to be expanded irregularly. Or also as a permanent solution to create order in the basement at home or in the garage.
This type of shelving creates a great deal of storage space in a small space, in that it can be adapted to the spatial conditions in order to make optimum use of the available space in terms of height and width.
