A pallet truck is a manoeuvrable and flexible alternative to a forklift truck for lifting or moving loads, even in narrow aisles. For professional use where heavy loads need to be manoeuvred, such as when loading trucks or transporting goods within a warehouse, pallet trucks are the optimal solution. Pallet trucks have a fork consisting of two metal tines. They contribute to ergonomics, as working with them is extremely easy on the back and saves effort.

What is a pallet truck?

Pallet trucks are the ideal solution for safely transporting your goods or Euro pallets. With the help of the fork, the goods to be transported are picked up and can be moved easily and safely. Most pallet trucks are adapted to the size of pallets. Pallet trucks are not only robust and have an enormous load capacity, but also run smoothly, which contributes significantly to safety. Even in small spaces where lifting equipment such as forklifts cannot be used, pallet trucks are easy to manoeuvre due to their manoeuvrability.

How does a pallet truck work?

The sturdy casters on pallet trucks allow the unit to be pulled and pushed. Pallet trucks usually have two swivel casters at the back and load casters at the front. To allow you to lift larger loads comfortably, a hydraulic system is built in, which has a load capacity of up to 3.5 tons, depending on the model. Pallet trucks with short forks can also be used in confined spaces.

Which rollers are optimal?

The condition of the castors can vary and should be chosen differently depending on the floor. Nylon is a robust and acid-resistant material. Castors made of polyurethane, on the other hand, are characterized by less resistance and are therefore easier to move. For more sensitive, harder floors, hard rubber is best. Pallet trucks for heavy loads usually have durable steel rollers.

If your goods should not only be transported but also weighed, we recommend pallet trucks with built-in scales. Precise weighing technology enables, for example, the correct loading of vehicles according to their permissible loading weight. The contents of the transported goods can also be easily recorded in this way, as net-gross weighing is possible thanks to the scales. Some pallet trucks have an integrated printer that allows you to precisely document and print out the displayed payload.

Electric or manual?

The lift drive can be either electrically or manually controlled. Pallet trucks are usually controlled manually. There are also so-called Quick-Lift pallet trucks, which allow you to lift goods even faster. Pallet trucks with long forks can manoeuvre particularly large pallets and objects.
