How do barrier posts work?

Depending on which device you choose, the installation as well as the flexibility of the bollards will differ. You can open and close a fold down bollard as well as a removable barrier post with a key. Thus, the post cannot be removed by unauthorized persons. Bollards for setting in concrete are embedded in the ground and cannot be moved without effort. Barrier posts for private property do not require a permit, unlike bollards in public areas.

Bollards that can be removed or folded down

The best known form is probably the removable bollard. Here the post is connected to the ground by a special anchorage. The barrier post can only be removed with a special key, e.g. a triangular key. Foldable barrier posts work in a similar way. They are permanently anchored to the ground and simply folded down when needed to clear the passageway. These models can also be fitted with special locks to ensure that only authorised persons can gain access.
